MONENA's First President's Award of Excellence

The MONENA First President’s Award of Excellence is the most prestigious award given by the Missouri Chapter of the National Emergency Number
Association. |
This award is committed to the memory of Major Gerald Hollander, the first president of MONENA, who served as President from March 1988 to November 1990. Following his service as President, Major Hollander continued his support of MONENA
with his wise counsel, active participation, and friendship until his passing in 1997.
The First President’s Award of Excellence is awarded to those professionals whose personal contributions extend above and beyond the normal expectations of their duties as they relate to 9-1-1 services. The award recipient must be an
individual who has consistently demonstrated his or her dedication to 9-1-1 services through their service, employment and advocacy of professional development of 9-1-1.
To
qualify for this award, a person must
be

| nominated
by a MONENA member in good standing. The
nomination must be delivered, in writing,
to the secretary of the MONENA Chapter
stating the name of the nominee and outlining the specific reasons that the nominating person feels the nominee possesses the personal qualities and contributions to 9-1-1 public safety communications that qualify
him or her for the award.
Nominations may be forwarded to the secretary anytime following the close of the Annual Conference and up to February 1 of the following year. The MONENA President will appoint a committee consisting of at least three MONENA
members who will meet prior to the Annual Conference to review and evaluate any nominees submitted for the award. The committee will select from among the nominees the person they feel best meets the standards of excellence established for the award.
In the event no nominations are received by the established deadline or the nominations received are not felt to meet the standards of excellence as established, an award will not be issued and will be noted in the minutes of the
Annual Conference business meeting for that year. |
