The Missouri Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (MONENA) recently presented 6 y.o. Trinity Cauley from St. Francis County, and 10 y.o. Dillon Huddleston from Macon County with the 2008 HERO awards. They were honored by the state’s 9-1-1 organization at the banquet and awards ceremony that is held annually by the association. The MONENA annual conference and trade show was held at the Tan-Tara Resort at Lake of the Ozarks. The award was presented by Michael Kindle, President of the association. Centurytel is the sponsor of the HERO award in Missouri.

Trinity placed a 9-1-1 call for her dad who was having seizures, and Dillon placed a       9-1-1 for his mom who was suffering from a medical emergency during her pregnancy.  Both Trinity and Dillon remained calm during their calls, and described to the dispatchers what was happening.  They both also followed the dispatchers instructions until responders arrived on scene.  For knowing what to do during an emergency and placing the 9-1-1 calls that helped save their parents lives they truly are HEROs.
